As a not-for-profit organization, MMA aims to help its members, both individually and collectively, preserve, promote, and instill the culture and traditions of Kerala, along with the Malayalam language. The Association cherishes the unique heritage of its members’ ancestral links and cultural ties to Kerala, India. The Malayalee Association of Middilesbrough (MMA) is one of the oldest and most inclusive Indian regional associations in UK, established in 2000-2002. As a not-for-profit organization, MMA’s mission is to help its members, both individually and collectively, preserve, promote, and instill the culture and traditions of Kerala, including the Malayalam language.We are here to extend a helping hand on questions of housing, welfare rights and immigration and legal problems wherever possible to any member who is in distress or trouble, in conditions of need, hardship or distress, by the provision of an advice and information service.

Our History

ഏകദേശം 2000 -2002 ൽ ഒരു കൂട്ടം നഴ്സസുമ്മാർ Middlesbrough James Cook യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റി Hospital ൽ ജോയിൻ ചെയ്‌യുകയുണ്ടായി .പല സ്ഥലങ്ങളിലായി പരസ്പരം അറിയാതെയും ബന്ധമില്ലാതെയും ഇരുന്ന കുടുംബങ്ങളെ ഒരു പറ്റം ചെറുപ്പക്കാരുടെ നേതൃത്വത്തിൽ ഒത്തുകൂടുകയും അതുവഴി ഒരു ക്രിസ്മസ് കരോൾ സംഘടിപ്പിക്കുകയും അങ്ങനെ ഒരു കൂട്ടായ്മ രൂപപ്പെടുകയും 2006 ൽ വീണ്ടും ഒത്തുകൂടുകയും ക്രിസ്മസ് കരോൾ ആഘോഷമാകുകയും ചെയ്യ്തു . MMA യുടെ ചെറിയ തുടക്കം ആയിരുന്നു ഈ ഒത്തു കൂടൽ.

Events

MMA organizes events and charity meets every year, sponsored by various individual Performaces and gettogether. These annual celebrations, named ‘MMA Events’ have been a huge success. Our Events showcases a variety of cultural programs including both modern and traditional music and dance, with participants of all ages. These events are foundational in bringing together our community and strengthening its bonds, welcoming new members each time.
